New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand Homes Part time

About Us

At Homes, we believe in empowering people with disabilities to live the lives they choose. Our organisation operates across much of the North Island, providing community-based disability support services. We are committed to Te Tiriti O Waitangi and the UN Convention for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

We encourage people with lived experience of disability, mental health, Māori, Pasifika, people from other backgrounds and/or from LGBTQIA+ communities to apply.

The Role

We are seeking five dedicated Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will have the privilege of working closely with individuals in the community who have complex disabilities, assisting them in their journey towards independence and mastery of life skills.

You will join an amazing team providing 24/7 residential care for a young male. He is energetic, cheeky, with a love of technology and water. As part of his support team, you will play a vital role in helping him develop independence and master essential life skills.

About You

Ideally, you will have experience in providing personal care and possess excellent communication skills. Your strong time management and problem-solving abilities will be essential in delivering effective support. Experience working with individuals with disabilities and challenging behaviours, along with an understanding of autism, will help you meet the specific needs of this service.

Your ability to think creatively will be invaluable in finding solutions to challenging situations. We are looking for someone who shares interests in technology and enjoys engaging in activities with enthusiasm.
