About Skylight New Zealand

Skylight New Zealand is a national not-for-profit charitable trust that provides support and resources to young people navigating challenging times. Our organization enables young New Zealanders to access evidence-based information, professional services, and support, helping them build resilience and cope with trauma, loss, grief, and change.

We offer education, training, and support for professionals, agencies, and others who assist those dealing with difficult situations. Our operations are based in Wellington, but we have a national scope, working with a network of delivery partners, contract counsellors, and an online information hub.

We are seeking two new board trustees to join our diverse board, which has a strong commitment to growing our reach, sustainability, and cultural competence. The successful appointees will bring energy, commitment, sound judgement, professionalism, critical thinking skills, and diversity to the role.

  • Clinical knowledge, experience, and skills working with tamariki (children)
  • Commercial acumen with experience growing revenue in a not-for-profit setting
  • Legal expertise, particularly in areas relevant to the not-for-profit sector

The board meets six times a year, typically for three hours, and holds an annual planning day. Members are also encouraged to attend stakeholder functions. We are looking for individuals who can commit to a three-year term, which may be renewed by mutual consent. All board members perform their roles on a voluntary basis.
