Healthcare Support Specialist

We are seeking a detail-focused and organised individual to join our team as an Allied Health Assistant. This role involves providing essential administrative support to our Allied Health Social Work team, ensuring smooth workflows and delivering coordinated care.
About the Role
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will be responsible for handling a variety of administrative tasks, including gathering data, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all documentation complies with health standards. You will also support Social Workers in delivering high-quality patient-centred care to inpatient, outpatient, and community-based patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- * Assist Allied Health Social Workers to implement person-centred goals and care plans under professional guidance.* Supervise and assist clients with daily tasks, promoting independence and safety in daily living activities.* Provide administrative support, including gathering data, record-keeping, and other documentation tasks as required.* Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring smooth workflows and delivering coordinated care.* Engage in patient education and empower clients to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing.* Participate in clinical tasks, offering practical support for team members to facilitate patient goals.* Ensure compliance with health policies, legislative requirements, and documentation standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we are seeking someone who is detail-focused and organised with the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently. You will also have the following:
- * Strong computer skills, including proficiency with data entry, record-keeping, and using various digital platforms.* Experience working in a health, disability, or customer-facing role.* Strong communication skills, able to relay information clearly and concisely.* Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks safely.* Ability to work independently while supporting team goals and patient needs.* NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Health Assistance hold or be willing to obtain.* Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.* Full and current NZ driver's licence.* Basic first aid knowledge, with a willingness to participate in annual CPR training.
