Our Company:

Xero Developer is a leading marketplace for business apps, connecting millions of small business customers and their advisors to over 1000 app partners and financial services in the Xero App Store, as well as tens of thousands of users of the Xero API who build value-added integrations on the Xero platform. As part of the Ecosystem team, you will be responsible for executing the platform marketing strategy to drive growth and engagement within the Xero partner ecosystem.

This role requires a seasoned Technical Marketing Manager to accelerate the engagement and growth of our developer ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include driving key programs, content, and communications to drive growth and advocacy within the developer community, collaborating with the Head of Platform Marketing, Head of Growth and Partnerships, and optimizing the Xero Developer Centre to improve experience and conversion through the developer acquisition funnel.

We're looking for this person to be based in New Zealand (either hybrid or work from home).

  • At least 5 years of experience in developer relations, preferably in program management, developer marketing, or partnership roles.
  • Strong technical background and expertise in working with a technical or developer audience.
  • Proven track record of delivering effective content-led acquisition initiatives using digital channels, events, PR, comms, and community.
  • Experience building community engagement and advocacy through targeted education programs.
  • Expertise in developing marketing strategy, audience segmentation, positioning, and messaging.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, CRM, and business software, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience in a marketplace, SaaS, or high-growth tech business is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accelerate the growth and engagement of our developer ecosystem by supporting the platform marketing strategy.
  • Deliver key programs, content, and communications to drive growth and advocacy within the developer community.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Platform Marketing, Head of Growth and Partnerships to deliver channel acquisition programs.
  • Optimize the Xero Developer Centre to improve experience and conversion through the developer acquisition funnel.
  • Work with product marketing to ensure a compelling ecosystem platform and partner value proposition, translating it through the Xero developer brand and partner enablement.
  • Enhance the developer experience, product adoption, and onboarding into the Xero App Store/platform through targeted education and content.
