Maori Health Specialist

**Job Overview:**
Auckland DHB is seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse to fill the role of Nurse Specialist – Maori Health. This position requires dual expertise in Maori health advocacy and advanced clinical practice.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide expert advice, care coordination, resources, and support to healthcare professionals engaging with Maori populations.
The focus of this role is on Maori as a population group and requires specialist knowledge of long-standing Maori Health inequities and the systemic barriers that continue to impact the achievement of equitable health outcomes for Maori.
This role will be an advocate for culture change and improve the provision of quality and timely care to Maori populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide expert advice, care coordination, resources, and support to healthcare professionals engaging with Maori populations.
- To develop and implement strategies to address long-standing Maori Health inequities and systemic barriers.
- To provide leadership and development opportunities to healthcare professionals working with Maori populations.
