The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by attending to their premises to perform servicing, inspections, breakdown support, and repairs of access equipment. This includes elevating work platforms, lighting towers, and telehandlers.

  • Inspect, service, and repair equipment with a focus on elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.
  • May work with other types of equipment on occasion, such as hydraulic hoses or small diesel engines.
  • Make every effort to repair machines on site, minimizing the need for transportation.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and inspection forms in a timely manner.
  • Notify the Field Service Coordinator if repairs cannot be completed during the visit and provide information for quoting purposes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer needs.
  • Liaise with technical support, including interpreting manuals when required.
  • Conduct van audits and stock takes.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including entering accurate job notes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Driver's license.
  • Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills, including writing job notes, reading safety information, machine manuals, and street signs.
  • Basic numeracy skills, such as time, parts numbers, and quantities.
