About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Alcohol and Drug Clinician to play a key role in our intensive, personalized response to the health, cultural, and social needs of tangata whaiora and their whanau in the Waikato region.

This position involves assessing clients' readiness to change and evaluating immediate risk and safety concerns. You will design, implement, and evaluate alcohol and drug groups and educational programs tailored to the strengths, needs, characteristics, preferences, and goals of participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess client's readiness to change and evaluate immediate risk and safety concerns
  • Design, implement, and evaluate alcohol and drug groups and educational programs
  • Liaise and work alongside Kaimahi across the Waikato region, internally and externally

Requirements

  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience working with high-need individuals and/or whanau experiencing significant mental health and addiction problems
