Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Public Transport Operations Coordinator to join our Network Support Centre (NSC) team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our public transport bus network.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide real-time radio support to drivers, resolving on-road problems and queries to ensure safe and efficient service delivery. You will also monitor our Real Time Information (RTI) system, proactively resolving operational issues and managing data analytics.

Additionally, you will coordinate bus movements during major events, breakdowns, accidents, and traffic delays, working closely with our operations team to proactively manage services and communicate changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support drivers via radio to resolve on-road problems and queries
  • Monitor RTI system to proactively resolve operational issues
  • Manage RTI system for regular reporting and data analytics
  • Coordinate bus movements during major events, breakdowns, accidents, and traffic delays
  • Work closely with operations team to proactively manage services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced communication skills, including verbal and written to clearly communicate concise information calmly
  • An interest in the public transport sector
  • A skilled multi-tasker, with problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good computer skills and the ability to accurately record information in real time
  • Able to apply and follow process steps, sometimes while operating in a time-critical situation
  • Strong time management and organisation
