We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager: Assurance to join our team and contribute to our mission of improving the fairness and effectiveness of policing in New Zealand.

In this role, you will lead a team of investigators and support staff who oversee and review Police investigations into complaints.

You will work closely with our unit responsible for ensuring the Police's custodial facilities and practices meet international standards.

As a Manager: Assurance, you will have the opportunity to work on complex and challenging cases, applying your advanced analytical skills and sound judgment to ensure that investigations are thorough and effective.

You will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the community and upholding the values of Respect, Independence, Teamwork, Integrity, and Empathy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of investigators and support staff in overseeing and reviewing Police investigations into complaints.
  • Work closely with our unit responsible for ensuring the Police's custodial facilities and practices meet international standards.
  • Apply advanced analytical skills and sound judgment to ensure that investigations are thorough and effective.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to investigations and oversight.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a management or staff leadership role.
  • Advanced analytical skills and sound judgment.
  • Background in law enforcement or knowledge of policing or other law enforcement operations.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and complex environment.
