Job Overview

The New Zealand Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Curriculum Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the Learning Design group, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-quality teaching and curriculum products that meet the needs of students in Aotearoa.

Reporting to the Lead Advisers, you will be responsible for understanding the requirements of various projects, developing quality products and services, and communicating effectively with colleagues and senior leadership.

You will have a good understanding of the early learning and schooling education system, as well as a strong strategic mindset to understand government priorities and expectations.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with the team to map teaching to national curricula, maximising learning outcomes for all students.

About the Role
  • Develop high-quality teaching and curriculum products that align with national curricula
  • Work closely with Lead Advisers to understand project requirements and develop effective solutions
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to colleagues and senior leadership
  • Contribute to the design and development of inclusive curricula, assessment, and NCEA
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Generalist curriculum knowledge with a strength in one or other of te reo matatini or pāngarau
  • Ability to build dynamic relationships and partnerships with diverse groups
  • Strong strategic mindset to understand government priorities and expectations
  • Good understanding of the early learning and schooling education system
