Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Full time

About the Role:
This is a casual contract offering flexible shifts to cover roster gaps and ensure continuity of care for primary birthing people and those with complex needs. Our midwives provide comprehensive care across the full scope of midwifery practice, allowing for career development opportunities and exceptional quality of care for our community.
About the Team/Service/Location:
Our midwifery unit is a patient-focused practice that prioritizes work-life balance and offers a competitive schedule. We are committed to providing developmental opportunities, orientation, and support for our staff. New initiatives include bespoke orientation, two clinical coaches, and opportunities to expand skills across the scope of practice.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you must hold a current APC with the Midwifery Council of NZ and have the ability to work well in an integrated team. You should be organized, have good time management, and a strong pregnant people/whanau centered philosophy. Experience and proactive approach to breastfeeding assistance and support are essential. You should also be able to work collaboratively with all health professionals and understand the importance of liaising with stakeholders in the hospital and community environment.

Benefits:
We offer a pro-equity health organisation with a focus on Maori, Pacific Peoples, and the Disability Community. A diverse and inclusive workforce means we are better positioned to understand and service our community. We prioritize work-life balance and offer flexible shift patterns. Developmental opportunities, orientation, and support are available for our staff. Bespoke orientation and two clinical coaches ensure new and less experienced midwives receive the support they need. Opportunities to expand skills across the scope of practice and in different areas are also available.
