We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, testing, and launching our Electron rocket across our launch sites and test facilities in the United States and New Zealand.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly motivated and dedicated team. You will be hands-on, working with tools, equipment, and/or facilities to build, launch or test Rocket Lab launch vehicles or components.
The Mechanical Production team works closely with test engineers and design engineers to achieve the highest product quality and safety standards for Rocket Lab launch vehicles. As a Technician, you will be responsible for receiving components from the supply chain and completing the assembly and testing of those components before passing them on to the Integration team.
To be successful in this role, you will require trade qualification in relevant industry or 4+ years of relevant industry experience. Additionally, you must be comfortable working to exacting standards, including cleanliness for oxygen service. A good level of eyesight is also essential for inspecting assemblies to a high workmanship standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and assemble components from the supply chain
- Test and verify the assembled components
- Pass the completed components to the Integration team
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Trade qualified in relevant industry or 4+ years of relevant industry experience
- Precision mechanical assembly
- Operation of mechanical, electrical and automated test equipment
- Comfortable working to exacting standards, including cleanliness for oxygen service
- Good level of eyesight for inspecting assemblies to a high workmanship standard
