We are seeking a skilled Child Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Waitemata District Health Board. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Psychiatrist to contribute their expertise in treating children and adolescents with mental health issues.

The position is based in Rotorua or Taupō, with clinics offered at both sites. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.

About the Role:
  • This role requires general psychiatric skills, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various mental health conditions affecting children and adolescents.
  • You must hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration as a Child Psychiatrist with the Medical Council of NZ.
  • Enjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th, and 6th-year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCP.
About Us:

The Waitemata District serves a population of just over 118,000 and covers 9,570 square kilometres.

The major centres of population are Rotorua and Taupō where two hospitals are based.

The DHB's boundaries take in the two main iwi groups of Te Arawa and Ngāti Tūwharetoa.

Salary:

$142,000 to $267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances.
