We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of mental health services in our region.

Job Overview

The role is based in Rotorua or Taupō and clinics are offered at both sites. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated group of professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Our new model of care, Te Ara Tauwhirotanga, emphasizes kindness and empathy in every-day practice. This approach has been co-designed with over 400 participants from the Lakes community, ensuring that it meets the unique needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing general psychiatric care to children and adolescents
  • Conducting assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
  • Developing and implementing mental health programs and services
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

We offer a competitive salary range of $142,000 to $267,980 pro-rated to hours worked, plus Senior Medical Officer allowances. In addition, we provide a Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance for successful long-term appointments, free staff parking, and a supportive work environment.
