Havelock North, New Zealand Presbyterian Support East Coast Full time

Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC) invites applications for a Community Mentor position to join our dynamic team delivering social and health services in New Zealand. Our East Coast team comprises over 200 staff and 100 volunteers working across Enliven and Family Works in Hawke's Bay, and two charity shops.

In this role, you will support clients to participate in community activities that align with their interests and preferences. This may involve:

  • Facilitating engagement in activities such as water-based therapy programs, ten-pin bowling, or attending local sporting events or live music shows
  • Building relationships between clients and other community members to enhance their overall quality of life

To excel in this position, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be patient, empathetic, and open-minded. A Level 2-4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or equivalent) and a full clean driver's license are required. Experience with mobility vans would be desirable.

We value our staff and offer opportunities for personal and professional growth through extensive training programs. You will have access to recognised NZQA qualifications at no cost and can benefit from a supportive work environment that encourages continuous learning and career advancement within our organisation and the wider disability sector.
