**About the role**:
**As a Family Works Social Worker, you will be responsible for working with whānau, tamariki and other professionals to develop solution-focussed plans to improve their safety, resilience and wellbeing.**
You’ll provide timely social work intervention where there are concerns about a tamaiti’s safety, or where the family circumstances are adversely affecting whānau ability to cope, by drawing on the family’s natural resources.
You will also be involved in the delivery of a range of educational programmes.

**In this role you will**:
- Engage with tamariki and whānau in mana enhancing ways and strengths-based manner to deliver social work interventions that value and support the significance of whakapapa.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment, risk assessments and planning of the needs and goals of tamariki and whānau and support them to reach their aspirations by working collaboratively, encouraging clients to take an active role in their wellbeing outcomes.
- Ensure child safety is paramount and at the forefront of all interactions.
- Respond to whānau needs using evidence-based and trauma-informed practice approaches that recognize the impacts of attachment, neurodiversity, family harm, trauma and other complex issues.
- Develop positive working relationships with schools, the community, and other professionals.
**To be successful in this role you will**:
- Current registration and a valid practicing certificate as a Social Worker.
- A clean, current full drivers’ licence is an essential requirement.
- Experience and understanding of working in Hawke’s Bay communities.
- Able to demonstrate cultural competency and strong commitment to bicultural practice.
- Must be a team player who supports all staff members of Family Works, and demonstrates our values of kotahitanga, whakamana, whanaungatanga, whakapapa, manaakitanga and aroha with consistency and pride.
- Passionate about working with whānau with a focus on strengths-based and solution focused way.
- Strong knowledge of and experience in family harm interventions, trauma and attachment informed practice and facilitation skills is a requirement.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
