About the Role

The Principal Scientist role in our organization is a critical position that involves providing high-level research, technical leadership, and advice on contaminated land management. This includes coaching and mentoring developing staff, actively participating in committee and community working groups, conducting research on the impact of contaminated land on communities, and providing quality assurance of research reports and advice.

This role requires strong communication skills to interpret complex scientific data for community groups and key decision makers. The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field (contaminated Land) plus at least 7 years professional experience or a master's degree in a relevant field plus at least 10 years professional experience.

  • Supporting high-quality resource management decisions and providing evidence in resource management hearings or to the Environment Court.
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and reporting that makes complex information easy for decision makers to understand.
  • A collaborative approach, a passion for science, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
