About the Opportunity

The Ophthalmology Department at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury is seeking a highly skilled and motivated medical professional to fill a Non-Training Ophthalmology Registrar position. This role will commence in May, June, July, or August 2025.

  • To provide high-quality patient care in the outpatient department and specialist clinics, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes;">
  • To contribute to the accreditation of the Ophthalmology Department by RANZCO for training Ophthalmologists;">
  • To participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.">

About You

">

We are looking for a medical professional who has completed PGY2 and possesses relevant experience in Ophthalmology at a registrar level. A strong understanding of te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori is also essential, along with a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.

You must be eligible for a general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and friendly team environment, with access to comprehensive support systems, including the Resident Doctors - Support Team (RDST) and the Clinical Team Coordinators.
