About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Specialist to join our team at the Canterbury Eye Service. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the ophthalmology team, ensuring that all patient referrals and reports are accurately typed and uploaded, and maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administering patient referrals and reports in accordance with Ministry of Health Guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and managing information
  • Providing administrative support to the team, including data entry and other tasks as required

Requirements

  • Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to achieve high levels of accuracy and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Familiarity with the public hospital system, including patient management systems
