This Support Worker role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of Hudson, a young man who requires ongoing support to develop his independence and personal growth. As a member of our team, you will be working closely with Hudson, his family, and other stakeholders to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where he can thrive.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Providing individualised support to enable Hudson to develop independence and personal growth;
  • Assisting with daily routines, including personal care, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks;
  • Engaging Hudson in various activities, such as swimming, bike rides, and car shows, to promote social connections and enrichment;
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Hudson, his family, and other stakeholders;
  • Contributing to the overall mission of Hohepa Canterbury by upholding its values and principles;
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge;

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or similar role;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with individuals with complex needs;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to read situations, problem-solve, and apply boundaries or offer space when needed;
  • High level of initiative and flexibility;
  • Passion for helping others and making a real difference in people's lives;
  • Commitment to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of the role;
  • NZ full driver's licence and ability to work in New Zealand;
