The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Canterbury District Health Board provides specialist treatment for patients suffering from malignant and non-malignant haematological disorders. We offer a comprehensive range of services, catering to patients from the South Island.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and skilled nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Haematology Nursing Specialist, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. Your passion for haematology and ability to communicate effectively will be invaluable assets to our team.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Clinical practice: delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing haematology treatments.
- Collaboration: working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Education: sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to promote best practices within the team.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in nursing, preferably with experience in haematology. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and make decisions autonomously. A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand are also mandatory.
