Job Description

This is a fixed-term position at Maeroa Intermediate School, starting from 24th March 2025 and concluding on 27th January 2026. The role of the successful candidate will be to address our achievement challenge and focus on holistic solutions and strategies for all learners and teachers while celebrating and maintaining the 'strength of our diversity'.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design responsive learning programmes that are inclusive of all learners.
  • Model good practice regularly to PRT and identify staff or requests from staff.
  • Work with leaders to review the progressions of Maths knowledge and strategy skills.
  • Analyze student progress.
  • Look to bridging to classroom practice.

The Mathematics Programme Leader will work in conjunction with the Deputy Principal and LSC at Maeroa Intermediate School. This person will also be a resource person for staff, model and provide advice and resources, attend Leadership hui as required, lead staff meetings as needed, coordinate with staff a presentation to Board of Trustees highlighting good practice, work samples and achievement data if required.

This position will support assessment design, program design, communication with parents/whaanau, training of learning assistants, purchasing materials to complement the multi-sensory approach to learning, and coordination of the in-class intervention and support programme currently serving approx.
80 students.
