About the role - Nga korero mo te turangaIn 2025, the University of Waikato is formally creating Te Ara Tatauranga - The Statistical Consulting Group.
This full-time role will be to work primarily as a statistical consultant, supporting research within the University for both students and academic staff, and working on external consulting projects.
This role will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, primarily through lectures.
The initial appointment will be for a three-year fixed term position with the potential for continuation upon conclusion of the original term depending on the performance of Te Ara Tatauranga.Salary will be in the range of $87,500 to $104,322 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based at our Hillcrest Campus, Hamilton.Who are you?
- Ko wai koe?You will hold a relevant Masters or PhD in Applied Statistics or Biostatistics or any other related field and have demonstrated teaching experience.
Preference may be given to candidates who have a PhD and experience in cross-disciplinary research, particularly biostatistics.Who are we?
- Ko wai matou?This position will join the Data Analytics programme which is part of Au Reikura - The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Waikato.
Au Reikura comprises of a number of Academic Programmes including, Mathematics, Statistics/Data Analytics, Computer Science, and Design.
