Job Description

Role Overview

The New Zealand Ministry Of Economic Development is looking for an experienced IT Security Assurance Manager to join our team. As an IT Security Assurance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security of our systems and data.

You will oversee the governance of Certification and security assurance activities across a portfolio of business groups at MBIE, ensuring that business teams engage with cyber security to determine appropriate security measures when planning and implementing new projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who can effectively lead a team of cyber security assurance professionals to get the best security outcomes for the business group and MBIE.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage risk assessment or certification and accreditation processes, including scoping and developing security risk assessments and controls assessments.
  • Lead a team of IT security professionals, engaging and motivating teams and individuals to achieve security goals.
  • Build trust and engagement with senior leaders through personal advocacy, vision, drive, and working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Remain up-to-date on key technical changes and opportunities in the cyber security domain, using this knowledge to continuously improve MBIE services.
  • Ensure good knowledge and wide experience across cyber security disciplines, with a good understanding of best practice security principles.

Requirements:

  • Cyber security relevant certification, such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP.
  • Must already be in New Zealand with a legal right to live and work here.
  • Ability to meet the requirement to obtain and retain "SECRET" clearance.
  • Skill to complete a credit check to the satisfaction of MBIE in this recruitment process.
