About the Opportunity: Innovative Backend Architect

We're seeking a seasoned backend engineer who thrives on solving real-world, data-driven customer needs. You'll have expertise in backend systems, infrastructure, and data pipelines.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our founder, Lauren, and other exceptional minds in an inclusive environment where creativity flourishes. You'll design and implement scalable backend services to support data processing, work alongside our Lead Data Scientist Vivek, and contribute to strategic decisions aligning with our technical direction.

You'll work on various aspects, including:

  • Collaborating on strategic decisions and ensuring alignment with our company's technical direction.
  • Designing and implementing scalable backend services to support data processing and working with our Lead Data Scientist Vivek to develop features on our AI roadmap.
  • Improving infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborating across the stack to support project goals and ensure smooth integration.

Our tech stack includes React frontend, Dockerized Typescript APIs powering the backend, and data pipelines using Python and Snowflake/Mage.

Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining backend systems (Node.js, Typescript, or similar).
  • Expertise in infrastructure design and optimization, with experience in Docker, cloud environments, and scalable architecture.
  • Deep customer empathy, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
