Taituarā is seeking a Sustainable Transport Solutions Manager to lead our Transport Contract Programme.

This role involves providing technical leadership and quality advice, driving performance within the New Plymouth Infrastructure Partnership, ensuring effective communication with elected members and the community, and leading the delivery of the transport works programme.

The successful candidate will have a relevant civil engineering or traffic engineering qualification and contract management experience.

  • Ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled.
  • Prepare programmes of work for implementation with contractors.
  • Provide commercial tension on the roading contract.
  • Manage contract documents and tenders in line with Council policy and legal requirements.
  • Effectively manage the Council's National Land Transport Programme via Transport Investment Online.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the sustainable vision through contract management.
  • Report KPIs across the contract.
  • Support and inform the delivery of annual and long-term plans, driving commerciality.
  • Participate in procurement and delivery processes, including design clarity and review delivery methodology.
  • Implement improvement programmes and drive innovation in the way forward works programmes are delivered and integrated with other work programmes.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with other contractors, stakeholders, and NZTA Waka Kotahi.
  • Be accountable for HSW within the contract.
