The Role

This permanent, full-time role will have you working as part of our dynamic Delivery - Sustainability and Infrastructure team. You will be responsible for leading the Transport Contract Programme, providing technical leadership and quality advice to drive performance within the New Plymouth Infrastructure Partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.
  • Prepare programmes of work for implementation with contractors.
  • Provide commercial tension on the roading contract.
  • Ensure contract documents and tenders are prepared in line with Council policy and legal requirements.
  • Manage Council's National Land Transport Programme effectively via Transport Investment Online.

Requirements

  • A relevant civil engineering/traffic engineering qualification.
  • Contract management qualification or five years plus contract and programme management experience.
  • Demonstrated application of transport engineering design and standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to enhance and/or develop team performance.
  • Effectiveness in performance and delivery within a political environment.
