You'll collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve the aspirations of the community, managing catchments with support from the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve the aspirations of the community
  • Manage your catchment with support from the organisation
  • Be the connector between issues out there and ECAN internal teams
  • Design, lead, and support community engagement initiatives
  • Share your knowledge and expertise with the organisation and community
  • Mentor other LMAs and the wider teams

About You:

  • Ideally, you're tertiary qualified in a resource management, farming, environment, ecology, or a related field
  • You'll be an experienced land management practitioner with a focus on sustainability
  • Clear, simple communication skills are something you manage well while focusing on solutions and prioritising issues

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience:

  • Three to five years' experience in a role related to resource management, sustainability, land management/agriculture, biodiversity, ecology, conservation
  • Understanding of land use, land use systems, land management practices, resource conservation and biodiversity protection principles
  • Experience working with diverse networks of people
  • Effective communication skills, facilitation
  • Strong working relationships with a range of people
  • A general understanding of Tikanga Māori and the regional significance of Ngāi Tahu is desirable
