Support Services Specialist

We are seeking Casual Tamariki Support Workers to provide support services for vulnerable children in the Auckland region. As a key member of our team, you will play an important part in delivering care and support to tamariki who require it most.
The role is varied and requires flexibility to work with different children, responding to their individual needs and supporting them through challenging situations. You will work closely with Social Workers to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for each child.
- Transport tamariki to appointments and activities.
- Care for tamariki when they are not with their family.
- Work weekends and be prepared for occasional overnight stays.
- Assist Social Workers as needed.
- Supervise contact visits and write observational reports.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm and patient demeanor, with the ability to see past difficult behaviors.
- Experience working with children who have complex needs.
- Discretion, tolerance, and understanding to earn the trust of tamariki.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work varying hours.
