Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Training Specialist to join our team in Wellington. As an Operations Trainer, you will play a key role in enabling our people to succeed through delivery of nationally consistent learning to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities include facilitating group, one-on-one and 'just-in-time' operational training programmes, providing face-to-face, remote, and digital learning support, creating learning environments conducive to learning and reflecting adult learning principles, conducting in-course and post-course evaluation activities, supporting the development of resources for managers and staff, and assisting with the development of structure, policy, processes and support mechanisms that will achieve the best results for training and facilitation in the workplace.

You will work collaboratively with learning designers and Technical Coaches to ensure consistency in learning products, delivery experiences and seamless support for learning. Some travel will be required.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Proven work experience in development and delivery of operational training
  • Experience in supporting managers and staff with on-the-job learning responsibilities
  • Experience multi-tasking, prioritising work and meeting deadlines
  • Working knowledge of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi
