Northpower is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our Central region substations team, working on critical infrastructure projects and maintenance programs that keep our communities powered. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial or commercial electricity sector and will be responsible for high-voltage switchgear installation, power transformer maintenance and commissioning, substation maintenance and upgrades, building new renewable electricity generation stations, collaborating with skilled tradesmen and technicians, following industry-leading safety and project frameworks, and conducting job scoping and planning with accuracy.
Key Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Registered electrician with a current practicing licence
- New Zealand drivers license
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment and safe work practices
- Team player with a commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- PASSION FOR THE ENERGY INDUSTRY AND A DRIVE TO CONTRIBUTE TO NEW ZEALAND'S SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
- Experience with switching HV & LV network lock-out and tag systems
