Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $142,000 to $267,980 pro-rated to hours worked, plus Senior Medical Officer allowances. Job Description

As a busy Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will be working with a broad variety of cases, including 1:6 on call roster. You will have the opportunity to teach and mentor junior doctors, with Rotorua being a teaching hospital. Our model of care, Te Ara Tauwhirotanga, focuses on pathways that lead us to act with kindness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A broad range of general psychiatric skills
  • Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration as a Child Psychiatrist with Medical Council of NZ

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and their families
  • Mentoring and supervising junior doctors
  • Participating in the development and implementation of Te Ara Tauwhirotanga
