Empowering Young People

Kia Puawai is committed to empowering young people to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. We are seeking casual Skills Trainers to join our team and work with our rangatahi (11 to 16 years) on an as required basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist rangatahi to develop and practice skills including behaviour management, communication, coping and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist with after school and holiday/day programmes.
  • Support rangatahi to undertake their daily activities, engage in activities that support their hobbies and interests, meet their goals and change their behaviours.
  • Report on sessions with rangatahi.
  • Attend any training as part of the programme.

Requirements

  • Full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Competency with tikanga and te reo Maori is advantageous or a commitment to starting your journey into Te Ao Maori whilst taking ownership of your learning and growth.
