Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as a Corrections Officer, you will need a range of skills and qualifications. These include:

  • A current full New Zealand driver's license (or Restricted License with the ability to sit your full license within the next 3 months)
  • Literacy and numeracy skills that meet our requirements
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English (both spoken and written)
  • Relevant experience in a people-focused role, such as security, healthcare, or social work

In addition to these requirements, you will need to undergo a series of assessments and checks before starting work with us. This includes a drug test, full disclosure criminal conviction check, medical assessment, and physical fitness assessment.
