Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ecological Restoration Team Member to join our Christchurch branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for working in small field teams to control pest plants, planting, and pest animal control.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the outdoors, achieving restoration goals, and possessing knowledge and experience of pest plant control, indigenous planting, and pest animal monitoring and control.

The role involves the use of agrichemicals, animal toxins, and traps on a regular basis. Some work may involve staying away in remote areas in basic accommodation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control pest plants and animals using effective methods.
  • Plant native species to restore degraded habitats.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.

Requirements
  • A full-time fixed-term position from 31 March 2025 – 30 June 2025.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • A good work ethic, efficient and H&S conscious.
  • Full NZ drivers' licence (manual preferred).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Growsafe (Standard or Registered Chemical Applicator) and First Aid.
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in conservation land management.
