The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Ecology Specialist to lead and deliver the Council's biodiversity strategy and service delivery function. As part of our Parks Team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Providing high-quality technical expertise to Council relating to urban ecology
  2. Leading your team in a way that builds a constructive and collaborative environment with internal and external stakeholders
  3. Developing and delivering a biodiversity strategy for Porirua City, working proactively with community and agency stakeholders
  4. Developing programmes for biodiversity action, to engage people with nature, and foster pro-environmental behaviour

You will have a strong background in ecology, strategy delivery, and leadership, and have a passion for improving Porirua City's natural environment. We encourage applications from individuals with relevant experience and qualifications.
