Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team in the Canterbury Regional Forensic Mental Health Service. As a Forensic Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in a hospital and outpatient setting, the wider community, the Court, and Corrections. You will work in a multidisciplinary context with five other Forensic Psychiatrists and provide consultation and liaison to Nelson, Marlborough, the West Coast, and South Canterbury.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in a hospital and outpatient setting, the wider community, the Court, and Corrections
* Work in a multidisciplinary context with five other Forensic Psychiatrists
* Provide consultation and liaison to Nelson, Marlborough, the West Coast, and South Canterbury
Requirements
* Previous forensic experience valued but not essential
* A medical degree and registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
