Whanau Awhina Plunket is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of pepi, tamariki and their whanau/family. As a Community Health Advocate, you will play a vital role in delivering culturally appropriate and personalized support to whanau across the region.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for assessing the growth and development of tamariki and working alongside whanau to deliver engaging care where they have a safe space to share parenting challenges and celebrate successes. This role requires a high level of resourcefulness, resilience and comfort with making decisions to ensure a high quality experience and minimize risks for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with whanau across the region, both home visits and in clinics
- Foster trusting relationships in the community by adopting a holistic approach
- Work alongside a highly motivated and experienced team to deliver culturally appropriate and personalized support
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a Registered Nurse with a full clean NZ Drivers Licence. You will also need to hold or be able to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate. Additionally, you will need to be committed to completing a 12 month Post Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki ora (we would cover the cost for this).
