We're looking for a talented Risk Specialist to join our Generation business. This role will provide risk engineering and management technical expertise, supporting the engineering manager in delivering strategic and tactical business objectives.
The successful candidate will develop technical information and guidance to support and protect the integrity of generating assets. They'll assist in implementing a fit-for-purpose asset risk strategy at Mercury, ensuring that appropriate tools and techniques for risk assessment and management are used consistently throughout the business.
This role is considered one of the subject matter experts for asset risk management within the business. The senior engineer will assist with communities of practice for the engineering function across Mercury, ensuring that risk is appropriately managed in line with regulatory and industry requirements.
The flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week makes this role ideal for those seeking a better work-life balance. Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and govern risk management standards
- Provide strategy for recording, analysing, and managing risk within the generation business
- Support risk management using the Synergi Life Risk Management platform
- Conduct technical analysis of loss estimates, risk exposures, and mitigation measures
- Perform quantitative risk models to assess failure probabilities of energy assets
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate risk mitigation strategies
- Analyse historical failure data, condition monitoring insights, and external risk factors to forecast asset performance
