As a Technical Assembly Specialist at NZ Safety Blackwoods, you will be responsible for assembling and testing various mechanical components. This includes performing hydro-pressure testing, electrical continuity tests, and maintaining gas detection equipment.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in mechanical maintenance & assembly work and possess excellent problem-solving skills. You will also need to be able to operate machinery such as lathes, drill presses, welding machines, and grinders.
A key aspect of this role is traveling throughout the South Island to conduct on-site testing of equipment hose assemblies, valve and steam traps. This will involve working independently and using your initiative to ensure the highest level of quality and safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing in-house and on-site hose assembly
- Conducting hydro-pressure testing, electrical continuity test, servicing, and calibration of mechanical equipment
- Maintaining and calibrating gas detection equipment
- Traveling throughout the South Island
Requirements:
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance & assembly work
- Ability to operate machinery such as lathes, drill presses, welding machines, and grinders
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
