Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Specialist to join our Auckland manufacturing site. The successful candidate will be responsible for research and development, innovation, and productivity delivery with regards to coffee and tea ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Identification and delivery of cost optimization projects with regards to coffee and tea for the Auckland factory, including waste minimization, efficiency, and CAPEX projects.
  • Championing quality through skilled and objective sensory evaluation of our products.
  • Symptoms the commercialization of NPD & Operational processes and is a conduit for the sharing of coffee knowledge to the business, including training of associates as required.
  • Supports material productivity improvements in the local Auckland factory.
  • Champion innovation, quality, and sensory of products.
  • Ensuring the technical aspects of NPD are delivered in line with JDE protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Coffee roasting experience and blend development capability.
  • Experience in tea blend development highly desirable.
  • Experience in sensory evaluation.
  • Broad technical knowledge of food manufacturing and technologies.
  • Proven track record of Commodity procurement within a budget.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the tea or coffee industry across multiple areas.
