**Role Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Pulmonology Physician to join our team in Gisborne, NZ. As a Consultant Pulmonology Physician, you will provide expert clinical care to patients with respiratory conditions, participate in research and education, and contribute to the development of regional healthcare services.

**Responsibilities**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical expertise across General Respiratory and basic Sleep Medicine
  • Undertaking outpatient chest clinics and providing a bronchoscopy service
  • Liaising with tertiary respiratory services in multidisciplinary management of patients with lung cancer and complex respiratory disorders
  • Participating in the acute general medicine service or intensive care unit, based on clinical experience and interests

**Requirements**

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A medical degree and relevant board certification in Respiratory and Internal Medicine
  • Eligibility for specialist registration in New Zealand
  • Experience in acute general medicine or intensive care, preferably at smaller centres
  • Proficiency in performing bronchoscopies and managing lung cancer referrals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and healthcare teams
