About the Job

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Communications Advisor to join our team at Waikato Regional Council. We are a diverse and dynamic organisation, working hard to care for the mighty Waikato region.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing communications support across our organisation, working closely with our in-house Communications and Marketing team. This team includes design, digital channels and social media experts.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing communications and engagement plans that achieve our goals. You will work closely with our stakeholders to understand their needs and develop strategies to meet them.

You will be responsible for telling stories, assisting in the delivery of important communication material, presenting information to a wide variety of audiences, and taking communication and engagement plans from concept to implementation to evaluation.

This is a dynamic role that requires a go-getter who prides themselves on attention to detail and completing high-quality work. You will be bold and creative, keen to deliver communication and engagement plans that build pride, connect people and empower communities to take action on important issues.

Analytical skills are also essential, as you will report on and continuously improve the work you do against agreed metrics.
