As a consultant physician in Gisborne, you will collaborate closely with junior medical staff and critical care specialists, ensuring a stimulating mix of acute ward work and outpatient care. Highlights of the position include:

  • Regular use of Point-Of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)
  • Opportunities for teaching and mentorship in humanities and clinical practice
  • Balanced workload with 40-hour weeks and manageable on-call duties

Required Skills and Qualifications

You must be eligible for MCNZ Vocational registration in the Scope of Internal medicine or Provisional Vocational registration in the Scope of Internal Medicine, and have a current New Zealand driver's license or ability to obtain. Additionally, consider applying if you are a medical sub-specialist seeking outpatient roles without call or inpatient duties, particularly Nephrologists and Cardiologists, or a medical resident looking for a year off before starting a fellowship.
