We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at The Drain Company, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the drainage systems across Auckland. Job Description

This is a hands-on role requiring the ability to operate a range of heavy equipment including excavators, vacuum trucks, and other machinery. You will be responsible for loading and unloading heavy vehicles, transporting dangerous goods, and working collaboratively with our team to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, vacuum trucks, and other machinery safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading heavy vehicles, including excavators and other heavy machinery
  • Transporting dangerous goods to approved dump stations
  • Ensuring all safety requirements are met when loading and unloading vehicles
  • Maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and quality
  • Communicating effectively with clients and our office team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in truck driving or heavy equipment operation
  • A current clean driver's license with Class 2 and Class 5 endorsements
  • Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
  • Understanding of NZTA Worktime and Logbook requirements
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the job
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Dangerous Goods License
  • Wheels Tracks and Rollers Endorsement
  • Experience in excavator operation and good tool skills
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated to be around $NZD 60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits, including paid training, career development opportunities, and regular performance reviews. All overtime is paid at the standard hourly rate as per statutory requirements.
