We are seeking a reliable and experienced Vacuum Truck Driver to join our team at The Drain Company. As a Vacuum Truck Driver, you will be responsible for driving our vacuum trucks, loading heavy machinery, and vacuuming cesspits and septic tanks.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in trucking driving, a current clean driver's license with Class 2 and Class 5 endorsements, and a sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team, be willing to work weekend shifts and public holidays, and be available for rostered 7-day, 24-hour shifts when required.

The role requires you to be able to safely operate a vacuum truck, load and unload heavy machinery, and communicate effectively with clients and our office team.

  • Drive our vacuum trucks and heavy trucks
  • Load and unload heavy machinery and earthmoving equipment
  • Vacuum cesspits, sumps, and septic tanks
  • Transport dangerous goods to approved dump stations
  • Manoeuvre the excavator into position for loading and unloading
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
  • Observe safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
  • Estimate weights to comply with load limitations and ensure safe distribution of weight
  • Communicate with clients and our office team

Additional requirements include a current Dangerous Goods Licence, a wheels tracks and rollers endorsement, and experience in excavator operation and good tool skills.

We also require that you be of good character, able to undertake police vetting and have no convictions for criminal offending, and be willing to work after hours when required.

We take drug testing seriously and require all applicants to be able to pass regular drug testing.
