Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team and contribute to the wellbeing of Pacific peoples. This is a unique opportunity to shape strategic direction and deliver holistic care in a clinical leadership position.

About the Role

  • Empower Pacific peoples to manage their diabetes and optimise their health
  • Work collaboratively with communities to build strong foundations for Pacific health and wellbeing
  • Prioritise disease prevention, health promotion and health & wellbeing
  • Understand the needs of Pacific people and communities, enabling them to exercise authority over their health and wellbeing
  • Ensure timely, high-quality services are reaching Pacific peoples

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and develop nursing practice to improve health outcomes and the management of Diabetes
  2. Hold an appreciation and understanding of health beliefs valued by the Pacific community
  3. Build knowledge and empowerment for self-management
  4. Develop and continually improve the Diabetes service and its care delivery to a high standard of care for Pacific peoples

Requirements

  • A registered Nurse with at least five years' experience and strong links to the Pacific community
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with a strong patient focus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications, with a view to obtaining a Nurse prescribing qualification desirable
