Job Overview
We have a full-time position available for a Mental Health Specialist in our Adult Inpatient and Community Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments using evidence-based tools and clinical expertise
- Provide individualised, client-centred therapy and monitor progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and other required documentation
- Prescribe medications when appropriate
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working with adult patients with mental illness in an Inpatient Unit and/or community setting
- A motivated team player who delivers high-quality care to patients and their family/whānau
- Commitment to clinical and professional development
- Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Adherence to the professional codes of ethics and standards of practice of the New Zealand Medical Council
