About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Specialist to join our team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes. As a Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients in our Emergency Department and Inpatient Ward.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat patients with varied and complex medical conditions
  • Work collaboratively with a small competent and supportive team of medical staff
  • Provide 24/7 medical cover to a population of approximately 41,000
  • Support junior resident doctors and medical students

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have recently obtained your Rural Hospital Medicine qualification or hold/be eligible for Specialist Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
