We are looking for a Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at SociaLink.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in media management, writing, social media management, content creation, and editing.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with key media contacts, suggesting opportunities for media releases and public engagement, drafting and distributing media releases, and coordinating media coverage.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and producing content for our regular social media platforms, monitoring social media trends and monthly analytics, and using design tools to create templates and content.

A relevant qualification in communications, journalism or public relations is essential, as well as a strong understanding of current communication trends and tools in a rapidly changing media landscape.

SociaLink is committed to strengthening the social sector through a wide range of free or highly subsidised services to community organisations, social service providers, hapori Māori, and local networks.

This part-time, contractor position requires up to 40 hours of work per month, and the successful candidate will be expected to provide their own equipment, including a laptop, relevant software, and an internet connection when working from home.

The role requires a flexible and responsive individual who can work independently while collaborating effectively with the SociaLink and Volunteering Services teams.

The ideal candidate will also have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously while managing deadlines.
